Purpose

Restore the data of an iSCSI share from the local snapshots.

Description

The local snapshots of an iSCSI share can be restored either to the existing iSCSI target or to a secondary target.

Restore an iSCSI share data from local snapshots

To restore an iSCSI share data to a secondary iSCSI target,

1. Sign in to the IDrive BMR device interface and go to the Restore tab.
2. Go to the NAS Restore tab.
3. Choose iSCSI as the share type.
   
   
   
   
4. Select the required share and recovery point.
5. Select Create a secondary iSCSI target.
6. Configure CHAP and Mutual CHAP authentication, if required.
   

   Note: CHAP authentication needs to be enabled for configuring Mutual CHAP Authentication.

7. Click Create.

To restore an iSCSI share data to the existing iSCSI target,

1. Sign in to the IDrive BMR device interface and go to the Restore tab.
2. Go to the NAS Restore tab.
3. Choose iSCSI as the share type.
4. Select the required share and recovery point.
5. Select Restore to the existing iSCSI target.
   
   
   
   
6. Click Restore.
7. A pop-up window will appear requesting confirmation to proceed with the data restore.
   

   Note:
   Restoring your network share will effectuate the following changes:

   • Snapshots captured post the selected recovery point will be permanently lost.
   • Restore mounts of the time range beyond the recovery point will be automatically deleted.
     
   • All active iSCSI connections will be terminated.
8. Click Confirm to continue with the restore.
