Understand the IDrive BMR’s local, device-web UI and its various functionalities.

Description

IDrive BMR’s device web interface helps you secure your critical data. It offers a host of features for efficient data recovery during a disaster.

Key functionalities of the IDrive BMR device interface

Manage your backups: The Dashboard page provides options to add physical clients and VMware servers to the IDrive BMR device, and manage their backup. It also displays the status of various IDrive BMR operations, system health status, and local storage utilization. The Firewall Checkpoints button is provided for checking network restrictions on services.

Restore data at system/VM or file-level: The Restore page lets you restore backed-up physical machines at the file level and the backed-up VMware machines at the file and system level. Here, you can also restore NAS and iSCSI shares hosted and backed up on the IDrive BMR device.

Ensure instant business continuity via KVM-based local and cloud Virtualization: The Virtualization page allows you to create virtual instances of of your protected physical and VMware machines on the IDrive BMR device and the cloud, in case of any physical damage or disaster. The IDrive BMR device and IDrive cloud platform have a built-in KVM hypervisor, and you don’t need any additional hardware. Typically, the virtual instances are created in less than 15 seconds. It also provides options for reconfiguring the virtual instances, without needing to delete the virtual instance. You can run backups from the virtual instance of your physical machines and secure data updates.

Replicate local IDrive BMR backups to the cloud / Seed large volumes of data to the cloud: The Cloud Replication page provides options for the transfer of local device data to your IDrive cloud account, providing additional data safety. Alternatively, you can schedule cloud replication on this page.

Additionally, to assist with faster replication of your data you have the option to switch to the cloud seeding service or IDrive BMR Express. This service provides you with a temporary storage device to which you can copy the IDrive BMR device data and ship it to our data center, for bulk data transfer to your cloud account.

Create network shares and configure their backup: The NAS Share page is where you can create NAS and iSCSI shares within the local IDrive BMR device. You can schedule the local snapshot captures when creating the share in the Create a new share wizard or anytime later under Configure Share Settings.

Manage device settings: The Settings page is where you can configure your email notifications, mail server settings, and network configurations.

View comprehensive statistics: Go to the Statistics page for system health status and storage and resource insights on all backups, restores, virtualization mounts, network shares, and cloud replication operations.

View logs of all device operations: The Logs page reports on the activities performed on the device. For user convenience, logs are categorized appropriately for physical machines, VMware machines, and NAS. These logs will help you analyze the cause of any operation failure. The device activity logs are covered under the System tab.
